Yes, if your Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP) supports landline calls. If your VoIP phone is connected to a landline port, you can also receive calls to your VoIP phone through the landline. |
| How do I update the firmware (software) on my VoIP phone? |
1. When the display reads "New softw. available", press the OK key, and then choose the update listed on the Simple tab. 2. Press the OK key, and then press the Yes soft key when prompted if you want to update the system. You can also update the firmware from the System settings menu: 1. Choose Firmware update, and then press the OK key. 2. Choose the update listed on the Simple tab, press the OK key, and then press the Yes soft key when prompted if you want to update the system.

| Can I make calls to a traditional landline phone over the Internet? |
Yes, if your Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP) supports landline calls. The ITSP routes your call from the Internet to the landline. |
| Can I make emergency calls over the Internet? |
It is possible to make emergency calls over the Internet; however, we strongly recommend that you check with your Internet Telephony Service Provider whether they have a service that makes it possible for your call to reach the appropriate emergency call center and for the emergency call center to locate where you are calling from. If you set emergency line to landline, check that you have a working landline connection. To set your emergency calls to landline, do the following: 1. In the Main menu, choose Settings, and then press the OK key. 2. Choose Telephony settings, and then press the OK key. 3. Choose Emergency line, and then choose Landline. 4. Press the Yes soft key when prompted to save. When you make emergency calls, always press the Green phone key regardless of whether your emergency calls are routed through the Internet or via landline.

| What is the range of the LAN DUALphone ? |
The handset has an indoor signal range of up to 50 meters from the gateway, and it has an outdoor range of up to 300 meters from the gateway. |
| Is it possible to register more than one handset with the gateway? |
Yes, you can currently register 8 handsets with the same gateway. |
| How do I register an additional handset with the gateway? |
1. Press the Reset button on the rear of the gateway to enable registration mode. 2. In the Main menu, choose Settings, and then press the OK key. 3. Choose System settings, press the OK key, and then choose Handset settings. Press the OK key. 4.Choose Register handset, press the OK key, and then press the Yes soft key when prompted to register handset.

| Do I press the Green phone key to make both Internet and landline calls? |
To make an Internet call, enter a phone number, and then press the Green phone key. To make a landline call, enter a phone number, press the Options soft key, and then choose Call on landline. |
| Can I transfer calls from my VoIP phone? |
Yes, if you have more than one handset registered with the gateway, you can transfer calls between the handsets. If supported by your ITSP, you may also be able to transfer a call to an external party. |
| Is it possible to call another IP phone by typing a URI? |
No, that is not possible. |
| How many entries can I store in contacts? |
You can store up to 200 entries in Contacts. |
| How do I change the landline dial mode to pulse instead of tone? |
1. In the Main menu, choose Settings, and then press the OK key. 2. Choose Telephony settings, press the OK key, and then choose Landline dial mode. Press the OK key. 3. Select Pulse or Tone, press the OK key, and then press the Yes soft key when prompted to save.

| Where can I find out which firmware version is currently installed? |
In Idle mode, press the volume up key on the side of the phone, and scroll down to where it says version. |
| How do I reset my VoIP phone? |
Briefly press the reset button on the rear of the gateway. (You can also press and hold the reset button for at least 15 seconds to reset all gateway settings. Note that if you do this, you will loose all contact entries.) Once the process is sucessfully completed, all four LED's will be switched on. |
| What is a MAC address? |
The MAC address is the ID of your DUALphone |
| Why is the phone called DUALphone? |
DUALphone refers to the fact that you can use the phone for Internet telephony and for traditional landline calls. Hence, you get two phones in one. |
