Troubleshooting

Problem Possible cause Solution
The number of the incoming caller is not displayed. Contact your telephone operator for more information about Caller ID. It may be that the caller concerned wishes to withhold his/her number. It may also be that you do not subscribe to a Caller ID service.
My PC speakers/headset do not work after installing USB DUALphone Suite. Open the Control Panel and select Sounds and Audio Devices. Restore the original sound playback and sound recording default devices to the original device (sound card). In rare cases installing a new audio device to a PC alters the audio settings.
The CD-ROM doesn't start when I put it in the CD-ROM drive. What is wrong? Open My Computer and right click on the CD-ROM drive icon and select Open. This will start the CD-ROM. Possibly your PC is not set to automatic start of the CD-ROM.
The handset display is not lit. What might be the matter? Check that the battery is connected correctly. Place the handset in the base to recharge the battery. Make sure the power supply is correctly connected to the base. If in doubt, read through the Quick Guide. It may mean you need to recharge the batteries. Please check that you have inserted the batteries correctly.
Nothing happens when I push the buttons. Press OK and *P to switch off the key lock. You may have activated the key lock.
My Skype™ online status changes very quickly from "Online" to "Not Available". You can alter this by clicking Files -> Settings in Skype™. Enter a 0 in both the Not Available and Away boxes. Skype™ alters this status automatically if you do not use the program for ten minutes.
Skype™ does not work together with USB DUALphone Suite. What is wrong? You can alter this by clicking on Functions -> Settings -> Privacy and then click on Manage other programs access to Skype. Click on current settings and select Change. You have possibly clicked the "Do not allow other programs to use Skype" Skype™ box by mistake.
I cannot make Internet calls. Switch on your PC. Connect the USB cable in the base to your PC's USB port. Insert the installation CD-ROM and follow the instructions on the screen. Open USB DUALphone Suite and check that there is a green tick next to all four items. Try calling again. Is your PC switched on? Have you installed Skype™ and USB DUALphone Suite? Is the base station connected to your PC? Do you use Windows XP, 2000 or 2003 server?
I cannot call ordinary telephone numbers from SkypeOut. Register as a SkypeOut user at www.skype.com and deposit credits to your account. This might indicate that you have not registered as a SkypeOut user, or that you have no money left in your SkypeOut account.
I am getting the following message from USB DUALphone Suite: "The Skype version currently installed does not work with USB DUALphone" You can alter this by clicking on Files -> Settings -> Private life and then click on Manage other programs' access to Skype™. Click on Current Settings and select Change. You have not allowed USB DUALphone Suite to use the Skype™ program.
I cannot make SkypeOut calls. I have installed Skype and have also used SkypeOut before. Visit www.skype.com and follow the instructions on how to deposit money to your account. It would appear that you have forgotten to deposit money for calls in your SkypeOut account.
My phone does not beep when my Skype™ contacts change to online status. If not, you should find the menu item 1>Sound in the handset and select 5>Online tone and press OK. Have you activated Online tone?
I cannot find USB DUALphone Suite on my PC? You can find the program by selecting Start -> Programs -> USB DUALphone .
My telephone cannot receive ordinary calls. Select 8>Country in the handset menu and select the country where you are and then press OK. Wait a moment. Now you can receive and make calls again. Possibly you failed to select the right country when you installed the telephone.
The light in the base will not go out even though the handset has been charging in the base for a very long time. This is entirely normal, as the light is always lit when the handset is in the base.
No Skype™ contacts are displayed when I press the PC key on the handset. Make sure Skype™ is 'running' on your PC and that your PC is switched on. Enter contacts in the Skype™ program. 1 - None of your contacts are online. 2 -You have not entered any contacts. 3 -Skype™ is not running on your PC. 4 -Your PC is switched off.
I get no dialling tone on my handset. Check that the telephone plug is connected properly - both in the base and at the wall socket. The telephone is not plugged in properly.
